With more and more cars around the world, the annual pile of scrapped tires could circle the Earth several times. These scrap tires, known as "black pollution," take hundreds of years to degrade naturally, and burning them causes severe pollution. Landfilling not only occupies valuable land but also contaminates soil and groundwater. Faced with this challenge, tire pyrolysis technology, due to its thoroughness in treating scrap tires, is now replacing traditional tire recycling equipment and being promoted in global markets.
Compared with traditional methods such as retreading, granulation, and reclaimed rubber production, pyrolysis achieves the most complete treatment of scrap tires, handling them perfectly regardless of the quality of the raw material.
As a leading enterprise in the industry, Niutech has been deeply engaged in the pyrolysis field for nearly 40 years, and its self-developed core technologies have successfully solved three major industry-wide problems. Its "Key Technology and Equipment for Pyrolysis Resource Recovery of Organic Solid Waste" employs core technologies such as coking-free operation, gas-tight sealing, and anti-polymerization, demonstrating strong adaptability to raw materials and achieving a continuous tire pyrolysis process with an industry-leading pyrolysis rate exceeding 99%. Certified by national professional institutions as a domestic innovation reaching internationally advanced standards, this technology represents a significant breakthrough.
Niutech is a globally leading full-industrial-chain pyrolysis company integrating technology R&D, equipment manufacturing, and operation services. Its technology and integrated equipment have obtained major international certifications, including EU CE, German TÜV, ATEX explosion-proof, and ISCC International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, making Niutech one of the few domestic suppliers of pyrolysis equipment capable of breaking through stringent overseas technical requirements.
Thanks to its solid technical strength, Niutech's products have been exported to numerous countries and regions, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Brazil, Hungary, Turkey, South Korea, Estonia, Iraq, India, and Thailand. Notably, the "New Generation Large-Scale Industrial Continuous Intelligent Scrap Tire Pyrolysis Production Line" provided to a European client alone commanded a contract value of up to $14 million, fully reflecting the strong global market demand for mature and efficient pyrolysis solutions.
In 2024, Niutech took a controlling stake in Hesheng GreenTech and launched a project that is expected to become one of the largest tire collection, processing, and comprehensive utilization projects in China and even the world. In 2026, the project was expanded with additional investment, and upon completion, it will be able to process 160,000 tons of scrap tires annually.
Pyrolysis technology is an effective approach to achieving harmless, volume-reducing, and resource-recycling treatment of scrap tires. Compared with traditional landfilling, incineration, or "primitive oil refining," pyrolysis technology converts tires into oil (high-quality recycled oil), and the environmental benefits of tire-to-oil conversion are significant: the entire pyrolysis process is carried out in sealed equipment and pipelines, without adding any chemical agents, preventing dust and VOC leaks, and generating no secondary pollution. The resource utilization of scrap tires can effectively reduce carbon emissions from the primary production process. Each ton of pyrolytic carbon black produced reduces CO₂ emissions by 3.1 tons. Through pyrolysis technology, scrap tires can be 100% converted into high-value products—for example, the recovered carbon black can be used in the production of new tires, truly achieving the circular economy closed loop of "from tires, back to tires."
By processing scrap tires, this technology not only solves the urban solid waste treatment problem but also creates employment opportunities and green tax revenue, achieving a win-win situation for both economic and social benefits.
