The 'Rebirth' Road of Scrap Tires

Scrap tires are indispensable items in production and life, but with the increase in usage and service time, the generation of scrap tires is also growing. A scrap tire is both a source of pollution and a resource; scrap tire recycling and disposal have always been a global challenge. Faced with the huge number of scrap tires, how can we give a scrap tire a "rebirth"?

Scrap tires

The main component of tires is rubber, and one technology that has to be mentioned here - rubber pyrolysis - is a practical path to realize scrap tires “rebirth”.

Scrap tire pyrolysis is a series of processes such as high-temperature pyrolysis of scrap tires to obtain recycled oil, carbon black, steel wire, combustible gas, and other products. According to the industrialized application of scrap tire pyrolysis, a scrap tire can be turned into renewable oil, carbon black, steel wire, and non-condensable gas through pyrolysis, which achieves the complete use of scrap tires.

Tire pyrolysis products recycled oil can be used as fuel, that is, to achieve the transformation of tires to fuel, most of the polymers in the scrap tires into oil that can be directly burned to produce heat. Carbon black, an important industrial fuel, can be used as rubber products, pigment additives, and other fields, used for the production of new tires. Steel wire can be recycled and reused, such as steel refining or the production of sandblasted steel pills, etc. Non-condensable gas can be used directly as fuel for heating tire pyrolysis equipment.

Through pyrolysis, scrap tires can be transformed into high-value resource products, forming a green low-carbon recycling industry chain of “waste - renewable resources”, which really realizes the “rebirth” of a scrap tire.

At present, this “road to rebirth” has been promoted globally and industrialized in many countries and regions. Niutech, as a leader in this field, has exported its independently developed scrap tire pyrolysis equipment to Germany, Denmark, Hungary, Estonia, Brazil, South Korea, India, and other countries and regions. The equipment has realized 24-hour uninterrupted continuous operation at local integrated scrap tire utilization bases or plants, with an annual processing capacity reaching over 10,000 tons, creating significant economic and environmental benefits.

Tire recycling

Compared to traditional landfilling and incineration methods, scrap tire pyrolysis processing has significant environmental advantages. Through pyrolysis, scrap tires can be transformed into valuable products, reducing pollution and damage to the environment. At the same time, the gas and oil products generated in the pyrolysis process can meet the emission standards after treatment, further reducing the environmental impact; this process is safer and more environmentally friendly, conserves energy, and aligns with the requirements of green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.

With increased awareness of environmental protection and growing resource constraints, pyrolysis treatment of scrap tires has received increasing policy support and attention. The government encourages the adoption of environmentally friendly and efficient treatment methods to promote the recycling and resource utilization of scrap tires. In the future, with ongoing technological advancements and continuous policy impetus, the industry of scrap tire pyrolysis is expected to face a broader development prospect.
